5/5 Bob (USA) - See all my reviews Verified Purchase(What's this?) This review is from: Hobart 770465 7014 Stick, 1/8-10lbs (Tools & Home Improvement) I was very concerned about welding rod surviving U.ltimate P.ackage S.mashers when shipped. I worried the flux would get cracked ore chipped. No problems yet after multiple orders of size & type. Now I can get 5/32 in less than 50# packages since the local shop doesn't carry and won't order for me. I prefer the Hobart plastic tube over the Lincoln card stock box too, probably part of the shipping survival right there. Note that Lincoln has supposedely changed to plastic tubes but I haven't seen them on the shelves yet.I have only used Hobart & Licoln rods, I find them very much the same 7014 runs smooth & fills fast w/o a rod oven and 6011 burns deep and freezes quick. This review is from: Forney 32005 E7014 Welding Rod, 3/32-Inch, 5-Pound (Tools & Home Improvement) The rods were received dry and well packed with no broken coatings. Just as good as any small low current rods I have used. 7014 is a great rod for beginners and small 90 amp or less welders due to the ease of striking an arc and just dragging it along. I am using these with a small, compact Harbor Freight Inverter welder that I carry in my RV for unexpected and emergency metal repairs. its a welding rod and it works

4/5 ken morgan (Yokosuka Japan) - See all my reviews Verified Purchase(What's this?) This review is from: Forney 32005 E7014 Welding Rod, 3/32-Inch, 5-Pound (Tools & Home Improvement) the rods were damp when I receied them and required an extended period in my homemade rod oven to dry them out, once they were dry they worked well, i guess these sat in a wharehouse for a while. In comparison the 7018 rods that I ordered from the same vendor were ready to use straight out of the box, so I guess its probably due to the fact that they probably sell more of the 7018 rotateing stock faster. 5/5 kbox (dallas, TX USA) - See all my reviews Verified Purchase(What's this?) This review is from: Forney 32105 E7014 Welding Rod, 1/8-Inch, 5-Pound (Tools & Home Improvement) I'm 54 years old and I've been using this name brand and rod number for horizontal heavy metal welding since I was 6 years old. I like the thick pretty bead it creates when you watch your puddle and weld at the right speed. Tends to run on vertical welds, but I know this and account for it. Can't beat it for a strong, deep horizontal weld. In those cases, I prefer it to my wire feed MIG welder when slag is not an issue. For vertical welding, I prefer a 6011 or MIG. Awesome smooth rod

5/5 CombatWeldor (Maine) - See all my reviews This review is from: Forney 32210 E7014 Welding Rod, 5/32-Inch, 10-Pound (Tools & Home Improvement) This electrode runs exceptionally smooth with any 220 volt stick welder. Like most 7014 brands, Forney also delivers in a quality produced 7014 electrode. If you want to lay down a lot of metal in any position, these 5/32" 7014's are the ones to use. Just drag it along the joint and watch the metal come flowing out smoothly. These also run smoothly vertical downhill like butter on a hot bagel. Forney Welding Rods Are Excellent

5/5 Ronnie D. Peters - See all my reviews Verified Purchase(What's this?) This review is from: Forney 32110 E7014 Welding Rod, 1/8-Inch, 10-Pound (Tools & Home Improvement) I've been a welder most of my life, although I'm now retired. I've welded Mississippi riverboats-barges (3 years) and trains (23 years), and numerous other international projects and oil refineries. I found the Forney welding rods exceeded my expectations and I would recommend them for any application whether for home, farm or commercial use. I found the rods arc well at different settings and there's little of the sticking issues, and they run a good continuous puddle that's easy to manage for both a strong and good cosmetic appearance in all positions. I had never used Forney welding rods since employers always provided the "old time standards" used by their grandfathers and was very satisfied with taking this chance with the lower cost Forney rods. Even if the prices were equal with that of the old standards, I'd still choose the Forney rods in the future for the strength, ease and appearance of my welds.
