    1000 watt verification

2/5 Anthony Collazo (Danbury, CT. United States) - See all my reviews Verified Purchase(What's this?) This review is from: Powerland PDW100 600 Watt 6.5 HP OHV 4-Stroke Gas Powered Portable Generator/100 Amp Welder Combo (Lawn & Patio) This is really a nice unit accept that every one selling this same model claims its a 600 watt total Maximum output and Amazon says its a 1000 Watt unit. The litterature that comes with the unit also states Maximum output is 600 watt. So which is it, to my knowledge there is no supplement correcting the manual's claim of 600watt which Amazon is selling it as a 1000 Watt. Other than that I consider this unit very nice but watch what you pay for? Help other customers find the most helpful reviews  Was this review helpful to you? , October 17, 2010

    Good little welder

4/5 Magdrop - See all my reviews This review is from: Powerland PDW100 600 Watt 6.5 HP OHV 4-Stroke Gas Powered Portable Generator/100 Amp Welder Combo (Lawn & Patio) Good little welder. Welds 3/16 mild steel no problem and what ever the watts are they run a 4 1/2 grinder no problem. I can load it by myself without a winch. Starts easy also. Works great!

Does everything it's supposed to. Want something more? Get something else. Know what your needs and demands will be first before buying any generator.I got this for about $325 somewhere else with free shipping and I don't see it being sold there anymore. It's advertised elsewhere for almost $600 so the price Amazon is selling it for is pretty decent. Amazon is wrong by saying it's 1000 watts though. The owner's manual even says it's 600 watts so disregard any claims greater than that. I use it for welding and power tools. I also used it to keep the food in my fridge from going bad during a blackout but be aware that it is very loud. I made some brackets to hold it on my trailer so I can take it with me to the desert for camping and making any repairs incase anything breaks or if I need to fabricate something. If anyone else has one of these, please add a review. I had a difficult time deciding if I wanted this or not because there are hardly any reviews for... 4/5 patrickryan5311 - See all my reviews This review is from: Powerland PDW100 600 Watt 6.5 HP OHV 4-Stroke Gas Powered Portable Generator/100 Amp Welder Combo (Lawn & Patio) Does everything it's supposed to. Just Delivered update.

My welder was delivered today. It was packed with styrofoam and looked like it was properly handled, this is important because inverter welders are a little more sensitive to mishandling than transformer welders. It came with the tig torch, collets, stinger, a nice ground clamp with copper contacts and the 240-120 pigtail conversion to plug it into a household outlet, all packed in a briefcase-like container. They also throw in a cheap mask and chipping hammer. The only things missing that I expected were a fitting for the tig torch to connect to my flow meter and some tungsten for the tig torch. These will be easy to find at my welding supplier. Unit is small and lightweight and includes carry strap. I am not a pro but I have experience mig welding and this will be used for learning stick and lift Tig. I gave five stars because of the value of all included components and speed of delivery. I spoke with seller directly and they have a 30 day money back guarantee and a 1 year... 5/5 Jeff (Brooklyn) - See all my reviews Verified Purchase(What's this?) 5/5 xiaoxiao zhao - See all my reviews This review is from: Lotos Technology TIG140 140 Amp DC TIG/STICK Welder, IGBT, Dual Voltage, Blue (Misc.) I received my first tig welding machine yesterday and tried the machine. The overall performance is much better than I imagined. I welded muffler together and some machinery at work. Everything works fine. BTW, I tried 110V settings, the machine has enough power even under 110v. I will try the arc setting, and update later.SteveC Help other customers find the most helpful reviews  Was this review helpful to you? , May 10, 2015

With Top Brand Welders like this one costing over $1000

5/5 stingray - See all my reviews Verified Purchase(What's this?) This review is from: Lotos Technology TIG140 140 Amp DC TIG/STICK Welder, IGBT, Dual Voltage, Blue (Misc.) Very Impressed! I was a certified welder for over 9 years. After a current job loss, I enrolled in a multi craft maintenance program at a local Tech School. Which included a welding class. I needed to brush up on my welding skills. I started to buy another brand of inverter welder, which didn't include the tig torch. The welder was almost $500 and the torch was $170. The duty cycle of the other welder was even close to this one. After running a bunch of 1/8 7018 and 6010 rods for over a week, I'm very impressed. It runs so smooth. With Top Brand Welders like this one costing over $1000, I'll give this one a try. I'll update my review later, to let you know if holds up to the test of time. Very nice unit with plenty of power.

I bought this unit to do some auto body panel replacement welding. I already have a 220 volt mig that I have used for over 10 years. It has a hard time with light welding tasks like sheetmetal. I figured this unit would be good for small welding tasks and is a good brand name in the welding world. The unit came well packed. I was not happy that the gas regulator did not have a gauge, thus making it hard to know when you were near the end of your bottle. I did end up adding a gauge since this would drive me nuts. The reason I am giving it full stars is based on its performance. It really surprised me to its ability to weld thicker material and still run on just 110 power. I love that I can plug it in anywhere and weld away on just about any size material with ease. And as predicted, it does dial down to be very good with 18 gauge sheetmetal. I wish it had a infinite dial for power output but I am able to find one of the 4 settings that will work for the job at hand. I have plugged into... 5/5 hankbear - See all my reviews Verified Purchase(What's this?) Quality you see when you open the box

I have been in the welding business for 40 years. When my wife told me she wanted a welder for her birthday and wanted me to teach her how to weld for her arts and crafts I had to decide one thing. What kind of machine would be best for a beginner ? I started looking at cheap Chinese welders and my experience told me they are not built to last. They have crummy rollers that won't hold up, they will make your weld wire look like a birds nest. Then I looked at their duty cycle. This is the amount of time your machine can run without resting to cool down. (I told you I have done this for 40 years) The cheap machines all max out at about 10%. You all know that means if you want to spend an hour welding, your machine is shut down 54 minutes in that hour to cool down. I know Mama is not going to be welding one straight hour, you have to do more prep work in welding than actual weld time and that lets your machine cool down and be ready when you are. This machine has a 20% duty cycle and... 5/5 Machine Gun Joe - See all my reviews Verified Purchase(What's this?) Lincoln Electric K2185-1 MIG Welder

Was looking for a decent, cheap MIG welder two years ago, searched the web and found this for $267.18, delivered, Fed EX, 2 day delivery. Jumped at this price and got it in two days. I have had a Lincoln 235 Amp AC welder for about 40 Years (bought it new for $79.00 retail at Farm & Fleet) and have welded more things than I can remember. It is still going strong, so I knew I was going with a good brand name. A few months later, I bought a Argon/CO2 tank to go with it. It sat in my shop until just recently, (We moved here in 2010 and it took a while to get the shop built and arranged the way it should be) when I bought a cart for the welder. Well, I just used it about a week ago. This thing is fantastic! It is the easiest welder I have ever used. I built a cart for my OXY/Acetylene set, out of 1" square steel tubing, all miter cuts. The fact that you can see exactly where the weld is immediately, is great, no chipping off slag to see the results. I was using a 15... 5/5 Mr. Clean - See all my reviews This review is from: Lincoln Electric K2185-1 Handy MIG Welder (Tools & Home Improvement) Was looking for a decent, cheap MIG welder two years ago, searched the web and found this for $267.18, delivered, Fed EX, 2 day delivery. Great out of box experience

I usually TIG weld aluminum, but I wanted to weld thicker/larger pieces faster. To MIG weld aluminum requires spray transfer, and 200 amps is about the bottom end for thicker pieces. The Hobart 210 MVP with the addition of the SpoolRunner 100 spool gun welds 1/4 inch aluminum like lightning! I can weld in a 1/4 of the time of TIG. No stack of dimes look, but nice smooth fully penetrated welds. The MVP 110/220v feature makes this a good light duty flux-core field welder also (although it does weigh 75 lbs, so I wouldn't want to hand-carry it daily). For occational field welding, I throw it in the truck and go! (140 amps at 110v, 210 amps at 220v).Now I can use my TIG for what it's best at, heat control on thin material.I also contemplated buying the Miller 211 MVP with Autoset. I tried the Autoset feature at the local college on two seperate Miller 210's, and was unimpressed. Ended up just simply setting the volts and wire-speed manually. Great for a newbie/harry homeowner

A couple of years ago, I decided to learn to weld ... it was just something I've always wanted to learn.I started with Stick (SMAW), because of the low cost to get started.Spent about a year and a half learning ... am now pretty decent at it.I'd been told that MIG is much easier, and I knew that to weld Aluminum, or thinner stock, it was the way to go.I wanted to buy one welder that would be capable of anything that I might want to do now, or in the future.I chose this welder because of the choice in input voltage (convenient, since I can use it anywhere), the fact that it is set up to accept an affordable spool gun, and the heat range: on the low side, it'll weld pretty thin material, on the high side, it'll weld anything I might reasonable expect to tackle.I'm sure that this machine is an excellent one for the experienced/professional welder. I'll let the other reviewers tell you that that is the case, as I am not remotely qualified... 5/5 David Carswell (DC Metro Area) - See all my reviews, October 28, 2013

    Superb Little Wire-feed Welder

I've been welding/fabricating for over thirty years. I've always had Lincoln welders in my shop. Industrial grade, 100 percent duty cycle, an Idealarc SP-200 mig welder and an Idealarc 300 tig welder. I also had a small 115 volt Lincoln mig welder that I bought at Home Depot years ago, a WeldPak 3200. I ran .035 flux-core through it and it worked fine with that. When I was forced to leave my shop some years ago when the property owner sadly passed away I sold all my large equipment and dragged what remained home to my garage. The little Lincoln 3200 I kept. Recently I landed some fabricating work that demanded changing my set-up to hard-wire and shielding gas. So I bought a bottle of 75/25 Argon/CO2 mix, changed the polarity, etc. and finished the job. But I never could get that little Lincoln to run as nice as my old industrial machines. I wasn't welding really thick material, just .095 and .120 tubing, and similar flatbar.Anyway....the job's done, I get paid, and I'm... 5/5 D.
