Awesome welder for the at home jobs

I am not a professional welder. I have a project at home that would have cost me in the thousands to have done elsewhere. So, I thought I would get a welder and teach myself. There are tons of Youtube movies out there showing how to do gas-less welding. Check them out if your new to the whole process.Ok now for this welder. I can only say that there is some great quality behind this product. Every detail from the drive motor to the tip is well above what you would expect at a product at this price-point.Pros:+ Makes very strong welds at a measly 110v+ Excellent drive pushes the wire easily and evenly+ Quality materials, fit and finish (knobs and switches feel as though they will last).+ Great welds by a complete amateur means this product is A+ quality.+ Hobart is owned by Miller ( the gun has Miller on the grip).+ American MadeCons: (these are tiny nags)- Spend a little more and get the one with the gas... 5/5 J. Surpassed my EXPECTATIONS

I needed a welder I could use with my standard house electricity. I don't have a 220 volt plug. I searched around only wanting to spend $90 or maybe $150. Well after reading and reviewing many many welders, I knew I needed to buy one that was a bit better. I ran across this one, and it all sounded good to me. I did about a week more of checking around, and then decided to go for it. I was wondering how they were going to ship a welder, but sure enough they delivered it very quickly. I was excited to open it up... and feeding the wire in it was not as difficult as I would have imagined. It just takes a little brain power. Setting the tension took me about 8 minutes, and I adjusted it pretty accurately the first go around. The time came to weld. I was expecting a little arch and I was expecting it to sputter. Boy was I in for a surprise. It welded almost the freaking same as my fathers hobart 220 volt $800 welder! I was astonished. I was blown away. I welded and welded,... 5/5 Amazon Customer - See all my reviews Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?) Nice home welder

I read some reviews on this model and had some concern about the quality of this welder. I've read that Hobart purchased Miller's AutoArc and rebadged it under their name. It makes little difference to me because this welder is great. Set up is easy and it does exactly what it says it will do. I have welded 1/4 inch with this machine using a double pass technique, however, the machine will overheat if you have a lot of welding at 1/4.I weld a ton of stuff with 1/8 wall and it does a great job. I've built a squat rack, lat pull down machine, front receiver hitch (1/4 inch wall), rear reciver hitch rack, bicycle stand, ladder rack, steps for my garage, step rails for my truck, and other small projects without any issues with this welder. I'm very pleased with this unit and fully encourage folks to buy one for their home shop.I don't use sheilding gas when welding; only use flux core. Can't say how this unit will do with shielding gas. **I'm not a... 5/5 Russ - See all my reviews Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?) Disappointment in performance, Amazon made it right

This review is from: Century 80GL Flux Cored Wire Feed Welder, 70 amps, 115V AC (Pack of 1) (Tools & Home Improvement) I didn't have a chance to try this welder until 3 months after purchase. It has not produced a bead even ONCE. My work pieces were clean, clamped securely, 20 Amp outlet power. Called the local Lincoln service: They claim it's not really a Lincoln, want nothing to do with it. Some guy servicing Century equipment reluctantly agreed to let me bring the thing in.I called Amazon and they sent me a mailing label to return the unit. I am ordering a different welder now. Thanks Amazon, for making it right. 0 Help other customers find the most helpful reviews  Was this review helpful to you? , August 8, 2011

Best in its class! Very versatile welder.

I wanted a welder to improve and compliment the capabilities on the farm. Repairs and fabrication on many different things. Been using a Miller Bobcat stick welder for the past 20+ years. Heavily researched for the best machine to meet my needs. The Millermatic 211 is so easy to use, fast, smooth and clean. Using gas shielding solid wire. Autoset feature works well and I am amazed at the quality of the welds on thin, thin to thick and thick welds with little prep work. Have welded rusty sheet metal I would have thought been impossible. Great home/shop/farm welder. MIG gun is only 10' but is easily portable so not an issue yet. It's not the welder I would pick to build a bridge across the Tennessee river, but big enough for some serious structural welding. Might need a longer gun at some point. I have purchased the spoolgun and extra argon cylinder for aluminum. The gas cylinders, cart, consumables and accessories cost almost as much as the welder and found the best deal at a local... 5/5 R. McMahon (Knoxville TN) - See all my reviews, February 2, 2011

Awesome rig for beginner or pro!

I have used several cheap wire feeds in the past with absolutely zero luck. I went the cheap route on two others, always in a pinch when I needed a tack weld or a little repair. Needless to say, I was less than impressed with my welding ability - every project looked like it had been dropped on transformer lugs from 8o feet. Burned, crooked...nasty.Ahh, now I've purchased the Miller. I had heard nothing but good reviews on the 211, so I ponied up the cash and purchased one for several projects - a trailer and a rototiller that I'm restoring. I was absolutely STUNNED at the ease and quality of this process. The welds are clean, professional-looking, and most of all, EASY! I'm NOT A WELDER, and this 211 made me look like one.I tested some pieces, and thought, "I'll be damned. That looks NICE!" but assumed it was beginner's luck. I simply dialed in the material thickness and pulled the trigger. That was it. Nothing to it. All the test pieces held up very well to... 5/5 N. Conner - See all my reviews, May 10, 2012

    Clarke 130EN mig welder

I've owned this mig welder for a few years now. I use it at home for hobby type stuff, and so far I'm happy with it... no breakdowns. I ordered some consumables for it, and was informed that some of the parts I had ordered were unavailable.... not a good sign. I believe the company went bankrupt.I mostly weld thinner gauge steel (22ga. and up), but have done some aluminum with it also. You'll need to get gas and a regulator to run solid wire. It will run .023 and .030 wire. I started off using C25 gas (75% argon, 25% CO2), but now I mostly run straight CO2 cause it's cheaper, the bottles run longer, the welds come out pretty clean and it's supposed to add a little more heat than the C25, which is good for a 110V model like this. Throw in some flux core wire, and it will run even hotter. I've welded 1/4" plate with it, and that's where I used the flux core w/ gas. Most of the time I run it with .023 wire though. I think I paid just under 400 bones for mine at the local... 4/5 Greg Gamble (Manitowoc, WI) - See all my reviews, July 14, 2010

0 5/5 Paul V. - See all my reviews This review is from: Clarke WE6523 130EN 120-Volt Fluxcore/MIG Welder (Tools & Home Improvement) I've been using this welder since 2006. And it's never let me down. I've also never needed to replace a single part on it. It is a small welder and it's capabilities are limited, but I can't think of a better wire welder that costs less than this one. I have no reason to give it anything but 5 stars. 0 Help other customers find the most helpful reviews  Was this review helpful to you? , October 3, 2012
