My first review of many products purchased. I always read reviews before buying, but this didn't have any worth reading. The good: Plasma cuts as advertised. I cut a 5/16" mild steel I beam. It was slow, but it worked. Thinner mild steel (20 guage to 1/8" thick) like butter! The arc welder is far superior to the one I have from that Harbor place. Strike, arc, weld. The TIG welder had the same good experience. No need to strike, the arc starts from about 3/8" from the work. The bad: The instructions didn't even perform as toilet paper. Totally useless! The pressure regulator didn't fit the argon bottle. It was useless. The hoses and clamps didn't fit anything and the clamps broke with minor pressure. My best advise would be to discard the regulator, hoses and clamps and buy new.I set up the compressed air and inert gas with separate valves so I don't have to remove and replace hoses every time I change from cutting to welding. This saves time for a... 4/5 gary - See all my reviews Verified Purchase(What's this?) This review is from: Brand New Industrial Grade 3-in-1 Inverter TIG/MMA Welder, AIR Plasma Cutter (Misc.) Was a little shocked at the dual amp set up but it works like it said. Amazon as always follows up and makes sure you are satified. 0 5/5 Brian Maxwell - See all my reviews Verified Purchase(What's this?) This review is from: Everlast PowerPro 256 250a TIG Stick Pulse 60a Plasma Cutter Multi Process Welder (Tools & Home Improvement) I've heard lots of negativity about this welder and was worried about issues. Well I couldn't be happier with it, weld everything wit ease and the arc is the main st stable I've ever seen it will light up at even 2 amps. Packing was great and they upgraded me to a 256s which has more options and a smaller torch. Have cut 3\4 " plate like butoter. So all in all Dont be scared of this machine welds as good a 4000$ miller but you also can cut metal. Good luck 0 Help other customers find the most helpful reviews  Was this review helpful to you? , January 31, 2014

Great TIG Plasma Cutter combo welder

0 5/5 Frugality - See all my reviews This review is from: Everlast PowerPro 256 250a TIG Stick Pulse 60a Plasma Cutter Multi Process Welder (Tools & Home Improvement) This is a good welder cutter for people like me who want a portable all-in-one to take on the road and not take a lot of space in the truck or in the garage. It is both AC and DC so it can weld aluminum and stainless steel which I needed. The plasma cutter is powerful too. The tig welder has all of the features I wanted like pulse and postflow and has great power and it came with all of the accessories included to get started. Tough little welder. 0 Help other customers find the most helpful reviews  Was this review helpful to you? , May 11, 2013

    very disappointing

I contemplated for 6 months on buying the powerpro 256 before I pulled the trigger. Now I very much wish I would not have made the purchase. The welder did not ship on the estimated date it took a month after the payment was processed to receive the unit. I was told the Tig setup would be upgraded because of the confusion but that did not happen either. When it finally did arrive it was very cheaply made and the decals were already pealing off. It almost looked as if it had been used before. I decided I could live with the cosmetic issues as long as it worked as stated. I proceeded to hook it up using the very vague and confusing instructions. I tried it on the plasma cutting set up first disappointed, then the tig welder on ac setting disappointed, then tig on dc setting this was the only setting that I could get any use out if but it was not that great. I have a friend that owns a welding company and even he could not get a quality weld out of the unit. Big Blue does it again

After years of having to drag any of my welding needs to work, I finally plunked down and bought this unit 2 yrs ago. I'm a fan of Miller products from way back, having cut my welding teeth on a Syncrowave 250 multiprocess machine, and using all Miller products at work from light gauge galv. steel MIG welding (Shopmaster 300 from the 80's, 2 yr old ShopMate 300DX), to running straight SMAW stick welding with a couple of DialArc 250s that range to the late 60's, early 70's. And in my shop environment these things get beat to hell, and little if any repair work has been needed. Miller machines seem to last forever. That said, this little 120 volt MIG welder has some serious guts to it. It's more than light enough to travel with, and being 120V it can be used almost anywhere. I regularly run it on a 15amp circuit with no problems. The 20% duty cycle is overly cautious - this machine doesn't quit. Doesn't cut off, either, just keeps going. Welded the doors... 5/5 M. There is nothing that comes close to this tool

0 5/5 Philscbx (Mpls, Minnesota) - See all my reviews I have had my Millermatic 140 unit for a little over a year now, and it gets used more than my much larger Miller 250 220 volt. I can weld as small as I want to 1/2".It's rated for 3/16's.But if you know what your doing, 1/2" is no big deal. This guy can plow along like the baddest units out there. You also need to go to welder supply to get bottled gas mix for it.Not cheap, but there's no way around it unless your going with flux core. Then you also need the electronic mask.Grinders, clamps, safety equipment, safe storage high on a solid cart.I always forget to make a video for items here.So next project with this guy gets a video of 1/2" steel for those that have no clue. 0 Help other customers find the most helpful reviews  Was this review helpful to you? , January 6, 2009

    Great welder!

0 5/5 Richard - See all my reviews Verified Purchase(What's this?) This review is from: Millermatic 140 Auto-Set (Machine) (Misc.) Purchased this welder to help with building a demo derby car. Welder showed up on my door step about 1 week after ordering. After everything is said and done, it totaled about $1,200 for the welder, a bottle of argon from a local supplier, safety gear(gloves and a helmet), extra wire, and a welding cart. The welder works perfectly. I have had trouble with it tripping the 15 amp breaker when cranked all the way up. If you are welding heavy, make certain you have a 20 amp breaker available.Overall, its a Miller and hard to beat. The only bad part was the local supplier harassed me for not buying the welder from him. 0 Help other customers find the most helpful reviews  Was this review helpful to you? , May 16, 2012

    Everlast Plasma 50P great performer

I am an experienced tradesman who always consideres brand name quality tools. I concluded the 5 year warranty and the many options of the Supercut 50P Pilot ARC was reflective of a manufacturer who wanted to deliver a usable product and stand behind that product. I was tired of using saws alls, hack saws, grinders and belt sanders to fabricate my hot rod and other metal parts. I was planning a large fab job and needed a plasma cutter. The inverter technology along with the pilot arc option, which allows you to cut without cleaning were a must: Sometimes I recycle steel and it can be a little rusty. I received the machine directly from the manufacturer and delivery was very fast. I went right to work building upper frame mounts and lower axel mounts for an upgrade to coil over shocks. The machine performed great right out the box. The cutting tip has a foot guide which allows you to follow a speed square or other pattern to make straight cuts or repetitive shapes from a pattern. Good cutter/good product

0 4/5 AhlJD - See all my reviews Verified Purchase(What's this?) This plasma cutter does as advertised - it cuts very well. And through 3/4" material. I have not yet tried it on 1" material. One of the things I dislike about this product is the consumables (electrodes, nozzles and ceramic cups) are not readily available at most welding supply shops. Most shops carry Hypertherm, Lincoln, Miller products, but (at least in my area) when I ask them about Everlast products, they just smile and say we don't carry that line, and good luck finding consumables for it. I have found one dealer ([...]) that stocks Everlast parts - including parts for the 50P. As of April 29, 2014 the electrodes are $5 each, nozzles are $5 each. They didn't have the ceramic cups in stock at that time (carry them, but just didn't have an inventory), so was not able to get a price for them. 0 Help other customers find the most helpful reviews  Was this review helpful to you? , April 29, 2014

Great for the hobbyist and homebrewer

I really wanted to get a higher end model using IGBTs instead of the older MOSFET switching technology on this, but couldn't justify the cost. A second major consideration is the unit, an inverter type, will run on 120vac--still waiting to wire a 240 outlet I can use. I've never used a plasma torch (but do weld), and found it fairly straightforward. The "manual", a half dozen printed pages, that came with it was very poor Chinglish without much relation to anything, but the PDF from the website was thorough and complete.I did call support, a couple times, mostly to clear up my ignorance. Had to leave a message each time, but he got back to me within a couple minutes, and was _very_ helpful, knowledgeable, and local, at least to the US. The current can be set on the front panel, but it didn't go to the rated 50amps, so I called. Voltage issue. My inverter welder's output is 140amp @120v VS 150amp @240, and I expected similar with the plasma unit. Not! Higher working voltage... 4/5 R.
