About this book
Today, with a bit of investment and practice, farmers can safely and efficiently make their own repairs to metal equipment and structures. Farm Welding begins with chapters on setting up a home shop specifically for farm-welding needs, as well as welding safety and the different welding processes. While the book is largely devoted to oxyacetylene gas and arc welding, the methods most often used for heavy-duty repairs and fabrication on the farm, wire-feed MIG welding for soft metals is also covered.

    Great little welder!

0 5/5 Carey Netherton - See all my reviews Verified Purchase(What's this?) This review is from: Pro-Grade Ultra-Portable 100-Amp Electric Arc Welder - 110V (Misc.) I am a metal sculptor with twenty years of experience welding. I recently bought one of these machines on a whim. I needed a cheap way to weld parts together quickly. I did not know what to expect, but thought it worth a try. Without a doubt it was a great investment. I have used the unit quite a bit and have found it to be a real trooper. The one weakness I have found is that it has a short duty cycle. If I want to run a 2 foot long bead, where I am constantly going (at about 60amps) and burning through sticks, it will put itself in cooldown mode after about a foot. But I am cool with that and now know what it can and can't do. Just weld a bit and then step away for 5 mins. I really like the variable amp adjustment a lot- I can really fine tune things in to the way I want.A great addition to my studio without a doubt. 0 Help other customers find the most helpful reviews  Was this review helpful to you? , May 18, 2011

Longevity Weldstick 140 DC Arc Welder

I bought this welder in July,2013. It was delivered on schedule and I used it for a few hours, worked fine. In the middle of Sept. I went to use it and the controls would not hold. The amp adjustment knob would say 70 and the read out was 50 and stayed 20 amps off when turned. I set it on 70 on the read out but it was more like 100amp finally got it to weld a smooth bead at 30 amps read out using a 3/32 7018. The second rod I had to set the control at 50 to start then stop and turn it down again.A few warnings if thinking about buying any Longevity Welder thru Amazone because they reduce the warranty from 5 yrs to one year. You pay shipping both ways which from North Carolina amounted to $120. They are not responsible if the item is lost either. The other thing is you can not register it to Longevity without asking them for a ID number because the invoice you receive from Amazone will not show up on their records. So for a 220 dollar welder used 2 times I will have to either fix... 1/5 Amazon Customer - See all my reviews Verified Purchase(What's this?) Great TIG at a great price with plenty of room to grow

I've been using a Clarke MIG welder for quite some time and after trying a couple high end Miller machines I decided I had to learn TIG because I wanted to mainly start working with aluminum on my car build but I didn't want to spend $4000 for a Miller Dynasty 200 and I didn't want to get a Diversion which I felt I could outgrow quickly. I've been looking at various low cost inverter TIG welders for the past year and have really noticed these imported inverters are just as good as any high end american made in terms of weld quality (can't speak for the durability and support of some of these machines). I mainly had set my eyes on the Everlast machines, but I decided to get this machine after watching several videos of this welder featured on youtube by Mr Tig and Kevin Caron. The features you get for the price just can't be matched. The machine arrived well packaged. I was able to test out both 110v and 220v with the TIG 4T and 2T modes both trigger and pedal. GREAT MACHINE!

I can't really believe that I got this quality of welder at such a low price. I am sure the price will rise a good amount after there are a quite a few sold. The package was put together very well and safe. Not anything was broken or damaged. I opened everything and inspected all the components before installing. WP17 Torch is good quality and components are fine as well. It is very easy to connect everything. I used the machine with the 220v - 115v adapter which is a good quality piece as well. The gas regulator works fine but is not great. I will be upgrading to a ball flow meter style regulator when I can. I tried it out first with the foot pedal set at 130 amps on DC. I was testing on some 1/8" plate (Mild Steel). I used the 1/16" thoriated tungsten included. The arc was incredibly smooth. It had plenty of power at only 140 amps to go through the steel. I also tinkered on some stainless steel as well and the amperage control was great! This is a great buy and I can't wait... 5/5 Caleb Camrann Coker - See all my reviews Verified Purchase(What's this?) AHP TIG Rocks It

Arrived right on time, nicely boxed. Great build quality, included tungsten, ready to go. Hit it with 110 amps DC tig on 1/4 mild steel and laid a nice bead, (100% argon)noted high quality of arc, very smooth, easy start. Cutapart the bead and noted nice penetration. Went for the AC and some 1/8 aluminum plate. Easy to set start and end amps, cleaning, etc , plugged in supplied pedal and.....wow, like butter, love it.Time to go try it out on my chrome molley roll cage project......Did not try the stick function but I already have a sweet stick machine, so don't need it.The big thing to note about this AHP 200DX machine, is the smooth arc, the confidence a set of knobs inspires and the "ready to go" condition when it arrived. No fiddling with plugs, voltage jumpers, etc.The torch itself is OK and considering the price, pretty nice. Leads are 3 ft. shorter than more expensive welders .Other welders I had for business were better . For 109 $ it good for causal use around home . the screws were lose in box no bag . the leads are difficult to stay in sockets . with some attention its not a bad product . nice little welder,

I bought this welder to GTAW on a 110volt outlet. It does a good job, cant be beat for the money. however there a few minor issues i have had. The gas regulator that was sent with the welder leaked, alot. I called everlast, they sent me a new regulator no questions asked ( good cusomer service). the second regulator leaked, alot less, but it did leak. The gas hose is a cheap vinyl hose, it works but is cheap. So to sum it up, all the gas eqipment will work, but in the long run it will probaly need to be replaced. The switch on the torch is a on/off switch, no amp control. It works, however i called everlast to find out about a torch with amp control and it was a disaster. The guy who answerd the phone must of been new.. Every question he put me on hold for 2 to 3 min to get the answer. He eventually told me that i could get a foot pedal, but could not tell me if it was a on/off switch or variable. The torch works fine so far, but the head is molded out of some hard rubber vinyl... 4/5 JR - See all my reviews Verified Purchase(What's this?) Big things in a small and cheap package.

I was looking for welding machine for the garage and came across the Evelrast brand. I was skeptical at first. I weld daily at work and had never come across this brand before.I was checking out the Everlast website and found they had great support system for customers and a very informative community forum. After seeing this a I felt comfortable with making the purchase. The package arrived in great condition and I was eager to set it up. I was very surprised and please at how small the unit actually is. All the parts where included and all I had to add was an Argon bottle and some tungsten. Within minutes I was off and TIG welding. The torch is comfortable and the HF works well. For some stick welding, I picked up some 7018 and ran some stringers on some plate and the machine allowed me to lay down some nice beads. Plenty of heat for 1/8 7018.Overall I am very pleased with machine and even shared my experience with some coworkers who... 5/5 J. I find that the Everlast is an exponentially better welder than that which I already had

Firstly, I am a novice welder. My other welders are a 110VAC Marquette AC stick welder and a Harbor Freight flux cored wire welder. I wanted a welder which could DC stick weld and which could allow myself to attempt TIG welding. When this welder first arrived, it would power on but would provide no open circuit voltage. I tried setting all of the possible switch combinations. I contacted Everlast via Amazon and they had their technical support person contact me. He asked what troubleshooting I had done and I told him. He then told me that a return authorization would be forthcoming. During the next two days, I received a return authorization and returned the faulted main unit and plastic case. As soon as I turned the return into UPS, Everlast sent a replacement. I received the replacement and it works perfectly. I can find absolutely no problems with the Everlast customer support.
